Well, it’s finally upon us, the most festive of seasons that brings out the inner child in all of us (which isn’t necessarily a good thing when you’re having a tantrum at the shops in your late thirties!). Anyway, the best part about Christmas is …. books, of course! It’s a lovely time of year to tuck yourself away with a good novel and an excellent excuse to dodge the washing up.
This year, to get myself into the Christmassy spirit, I’m reading the classic ‘A Christmas Carol’. Of course I’ve watched the various cartoons and movies based on the book, but I’ve never actually read it. I’m a huge Dickens fan and it’s wonderful to rediscover his keen wit and playfulness in this Christmas Eve ghost story.
As we come to the end of another year, I just want to thank all of my kind and loyal readers for your support and to all of the writers and bloggers I have met along the way – a Merry Christmas to you all!
I love ‘A Christmas Carol’ too, it’s my favourite Christmas story, I have various adaptions of the movie, but I’ve never actually read it either… suddenly, I find that quite strange. I’ll have to put that right.
Wishing you and yours a happy Christmas, Kimmie.
Hi Kimmie 🙂 I think it’s because it’s such a well-known story that we don’t bother reading the book, but I am really enjoying it. Hope you have a lovely Christmas too!
